LWR Emergency Relief, Pakistan Floods
The situation in Pakistan is critical, and getting worse. Monsoon
flooding that began in late July has destroyed thousands of acres of
farmland. Nearly six million people are homeless. They need shelter.
They need food. They need clean water. And they need it now.
Lutheran World Relief is responding, but they need your support. Please
consider a gift to help LWR respond quickly as this devastating crisis
unfolds. And do keep the people of Pakistan in your prayers.

Misconduct Policy: Response to Questions
The Synod Council of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod adopted a
Policy on Sexual Misconduct of Rostered Leaders on September 29,
1994 (revised March 2008). A key component of the policy is the
provision of "an education awareness program for all rostered leaders
and the congregations and agencies with whom they serve." The policy
notes the expectation that all rostered leaders shall attend such a
workshop.
A series of workshops meeting that requirement were held recently
throughout the synod. The current policy was distributed at those
workshops and
now has been posted on our website so it is readily available.
Note: The Boundaries Workshop sponsored by Southeastern
Pennsylvania Synod will be held September 22 from 9 a.m. to 3
p.m.
