Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod Youth Exchange Trip to Slovenia
June 28 to July 19, 2010
(dates tentative)
The Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod, ELCA, is a companion synod with the
Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Slovenia. In
June/July 2010, a group of youth and adult chaperones will travel to
Slovenia for a 3-week-long immersion into the culture of Slovenia.
Youth participants must—
- Have completed grade 9-12 at the time of the event
- Be an active member of a congregation of the Northeastern
Pennsylvania Synod
- Be interested in and sensitive to other cultures
- Represent their church and country in a positive way
- Participate in an interview with our Slovenia Companion Synod
Committee on January 9, 2010 (snow date, January 16, 2010)
- Attend an introductory session with parent(s)/guardian(s) on
February 6, 2010
- Attend 2 orientation/team building sessions
- Assume the cost of the trip (approximately $1,500 plus spending
money)
- Have a valid passport
